We are being constantly exhorted by the pundits of television, radio and the press to remember that these are the most critical, fearsome and challenging times in the history of man. Our young are belabored with entreaties to 'get with it,' study, prepare for the exigencies of the future even though no one can assure them that there will be a future; they are inevitably reminded that theirs is the obligation and responsibility to assure progress even by those to whom progress means simply an ever-rising standard of living.
The young performers on JAZZ TRAC V have, like the rest of their generation, been assailed with ideas of achievement being represented by momentary gain. Their music, however, represents young people searching for something other than material values. JAZZ TRAC V is a youthful 'art for art sake.' There is no commercial intent, thank heaven. JAZZ TRAC V will not sell a million copies; but captureed on this record is a million watts of insulated teenage electricity

The following is from the PHHS Rambler 1964, the high school year book.

The "Dance Band" was composed of many of the same musicians that appeared in the Annual Jazz Concert and subsequent Jazz Trac LP. Here the players are identified.
