A Brief History of Jazz Trac

On a lark at our second Concert on Feb. 25, 1960, a former lead trumpeter, Jim Webster (now a prominent attorney in Las Angeles) suggested that we record the concert with his recently acquired (a new concept) tape recorder. We did it! Result: Jazz Trac (No. 1.) And we've gone one better each year. For example: Jazz Trac No. 10 has the great George Duke (down beat poll winner) and Jazz Trac Nos. 10, 11, & 12 have who is destined to be the nation's number one trumpeter, Jon Faddis, in his early stages of development. The record is produced at cost
