Special thanks to Russ Cary, Phil Johnson, Fred Reiser and all the folks at the Crazy Horse for their help on this recording. |

The Kingston Trio is an American institution. For over 26 years thry have entertained and delighted audiences the world over. Beginning in 1957 in the coffeehouses that populated the San Francisco area, three Menlo College students embarked on a career that would change the music world. Twenty-one top 10 lp's and over six million copies of the single record (Tom Dooley) are evidence of not only their unique talent but also the universal quality of the Trio's songs. Their popularity endures today under the stewardship of original member Bob Shane accounting for over 200 concert appearances a year -- a testament to the timeless appeal of a true American original.

K's input: With Bobby Haworth replacing Nick Reynolds in the Trio (the spring of 1999,) this album is raised to a position of greater significance; for the time being, we hope, Best of the Best gives us an example of Bobby's performances. Jerry |
